Apl.de.ap’s 7 Pinoy Bands to Watch for in 2010

Fil-Am hip-hop musician and record producer Apl.de.ap from the Black-Eye Peas flew to Manila late last year to give seven new Pinoy bands a chance at international superstardom. With the help of MTV Philippines through MTV Emerge, hundreds of undiscovered and unsigned acts submitted their tapes and demos, hoping to score a record deal under Apl’s Jeepney Music.
“We’re looking for homegrown talents trying to reach out to the world through their music while at the same time, proudly representing the country,” said Apl.de.ap.
Out of all the entries submitted, two preliminary cuts, and almost one millions votes sent, these seven bands, whose music range from reggae to new wave and hip-hop to rock, made the final cut.
